Planning a Euro summer in 2027 can often feel overwhelming and pricey.
Flights, hotels, transfers, restaurant bookings and, of course, the all-important Points balance all need to line up before you can swap the Australian winter for a European summer.
For Velocity Frequent Flyer members planning ahead for Europe in 2027, there is now an opportunity to give that Points balance a serious boost.

Velocity is offering members up to 40 per cent off when purchasing Velocity Points through Points Booster, giving travellers a chance to top up their balance for less and get closer to a reward seat.
The promotion is particularly well timed for anyone already eyeing Europe for summer 2027. If your Points balance is frustratingly close to the number you need for a reward flight, this could be the nudge that gets your trip over the line.

How much can you save?
The discount depends on how many Velocity Points you purchase during the promotion.
Members who purchase between 50,000 and 100,000 Points receive 30 per cent off, while purchases between 110,000 and 240,000 Points receive 35 per cent off.
The biggest saving is reserved for purchases of 250,000 Points, which receive 40 per cent off.
That means travellers can choose to buy only the Points they need rather than starting from scratch and attempting to accumulate the entire balance through everyday spending and flying.
The offer is available until 27 August 2026, so there is a limited window to take advantage.
There is also an extra consideration for Velocity members who have already reached their annual 250,000 Points Booster purchase limit.
For the first three days of the campaign, eligible members will receive a Points Reset, allowing them to purchase Points again. The Points Reset offer ends on 23 August 2026, so members who have already hit their limit will need to act sooner.

Turn a Points shortfall into a European summer
Velocity Points can be used towards reward seats with Virgin Australia and a range of airline partners, including Qatar Airways, ANA and Singapore Airlines, giving members plenty of options when planning an international trip.
For travellers dreaming of Europe, the math can become particularly interesting when a Points balance is already close to the required amount.
For example, a return Economy Reward seat from Melbourne to Rome for 15 June to 20 June 2027 has been shown at 160,000 Points plus taxes.
So, if you have been diligently saving but are still short of the required balance, buying the remaining Points could potentially be the difference between continuing to save and locking in your flights.
It is worth remembering that reward seat availability, Points requirements and taxes can vary, and buying Points does not guarantee a particular flight or seat will be available.
Europe is calling, so check your balance
The timing also gives travellers something more valuable than a bargain alone: a reason to start planning.
Europe’s summer months are among the most popular times to visit, and reward seats can be limited.
Those hoping to travel in 2027 may want to look at their preferred dates now, rather than waiting until the holiday is just around the corner.
Velocity Frequent Flyer has also introduced a new reward seat finder through Virgin Australia’s website, designed to make it easier for members to search for available reward flights and start working out where their Points can take them.

One week only
For anyone with a passport ready, a European itinerary saved on their phone and a Points balance that is tantalisingly close, the current Points Booster offer could be worth a look.
The promotion runs until 27 August 2026, with savings of up to 40 per cent on purchased Velocity Points. And for members eligible for the Points Reset, the earlier 23 August deadline is the date to remember.
Your European summer might not be booked yet, but with the right Points balance, it could be considerably closer.
